For my horror and dark art blog, Zombie Bites, September was a very busy month! At the end of August and the beginning of September, I had joined in promoting the Indiegogo fundraiser for Skin Crawling Comics by posting about the anthology every day. During the Summer months and well into Autumn I did colorist work for two different stories in the Anthology, "Buried" and "The Serpentine Cure".
With the beginning of September came the first year anniversary of the Featured Creature posts. I celebrated with a month long Last Bites year in review of the work I had created over the 2012-2013 year. For the occasion and in addition to the Last Bites, I also created several new pieces that I posted throughout the month. Theses new pieces were indicative of a new style emerging within my work throughout 2013. September also featured four regular Featured Creature posts of different elemental natures. From that set, the Eagle of Vz continued an ongoing fiction from the previous Spawn of Vz post and carried over into October.
The Psyche Delectus Tenebrarum included four new images with themes ranging from self understanding and self discovery to a declaration of war. The month ended with a portrait of a languid king in scarlet and a dark hunter.
The From the Archives posts for September included several hand studies, a sketch of an angry man, a creepy super science sub-basement, and a dark office corner where something unpleasant is growing.
2013 was an overall quiet year at Trail of Breadcrumbs and September varied little from that general trend.
The Weekly Mandalas ranged between an exploration of the nature of wounding and protective shelter to the generation and discovery of unusual substances and artifacts.
The Modo Cogitari for September traveled from a solemn moment of patience up through depths and a confluence of energies towards the revelation of a primordial astronaut.
From the Archives featured a sketch of a strange bird, a version of Old Man Coyote, a devilish Satyr, and a representation of Phoenix energy.
